Modifications

Modifications

couple speaking with attorneyLife circumstances change and so do the needs, abilities and circumstances of the parents and the children. Often material changes of circumstances develop which necessitate modification of custody, parenting time, child support, health insurance, expense sharing and a host of other issues. Very few divorce or paternity decrees survive intact until the children reach the age of majority.

Modifications are often resolved amicably through agreement and mediation, however, sometimes modifications require litigation. As in all family issues, the family lawyer needs to wear two hats, one which he wears as he attempts to assist parties and children reach amicable results, and one which he wears when he needs to vigorously represent his client when litigation is necessary.

It is difficult to maintain the balance, but I strive to keep the best interests of all in the forefront of my approach and the intent of my client.
